Strong & Courageous

Whether you are selling, buying, or renting - moving is a beast and it requires a bit of courage and a ton of strength / muscle. Yet it’s also a beautiful blessing to start afresh and find… HOME.

I moved to Florida with a dream, a Honda, and a portable storage unit… a very small portable storage unit. I still can’t believe how much I actually fit in that thing. In Chicago I was able to pack and store items at my own pace. This was a lifesaver!! Because when you are moving out of state, drawers full of random items magically appear out of nowhere (i really thought i emptied that dresser) and throwing things in tote bags is not really an option. FUN NOTE: I LOVE Homegoods .99c tote bags for local moves.

Something else I found very useful, Bankers Boxes for all my books. I have heard many times that packing a few books mixed in with clothes and blankets and such is the best way to go. But when you have over 200 books to pack, that is not really an option. Packing in Bankers Boxes however was. While each box fit a decent amount of books, each box could not fit too many books and therefore was not too heavy to carry. I was able to fit my entire library into 10 boxes, give or take. That was after I gave away 4 filled to the brim bags. NOT SO FUN NOTE: Give stuff away!! Do not bring it all with you. Only pack items that are one of a kind. We have an Ikea in Florida too.

That’s all for today! Stay tuned for more fun packing tips & thank you for visiting my site. Moving? Have a question? I can help!
